Welcome to the journal Editorial Report. I'm Paul Giego. He was sworn in as the 47th president of the United States on Monday, and Donald Trump is off and running, delivering on his promise of shock and awe.

As he signed dozens of executive orders and actions on everything from immigration to energy to gender ideology.

The president striking an optimistic tone in his inaugural address as he looked ahead to what he called a golden new age in America.

We will stand bravely.

We will live proudly.

We will dream boldly. And nothing will stand in our way because we are

Americans. The future is ours. And our golden age has just begun. So what have we learned

about how the president will approach the next four years from his first days in office? Let's ask

Journal columnist Dan Henninger and Kim Strassel, an editorial board member, Kyle Peterson. So, Dan,

what's your overall impression of Trump's start off to a good start? And how does it compare

to eight years ago? Well, it's much better than eight years ago. Obviously, there was a big plan behind this.

You know, we used to talk about President's first 100 days. I think we're going to have to

reboot that to the first 100 hours. Trump had a plan. These are not just sort of pouring forth

out of Trump's head spontaneously. He had staff. He had AIDS. They knew what they

wanted to do if they got elected. They assumed they were going to get elected because the

Joe, because the Biden presidency was so vulnerable. So on things like immigration and the migrants,

they knew exactly what they wanted to do.

The closing of the diversity, equity and inclusion offices across the federal government,

that obviously was part of the plan.
