Welcome to the News and Why It Matters. I am Sarah Gonzalez. And yesterday, seven GOP candidates

took the stage at the Reagan Library for the second presidential primary debate. This was,

of course, Chris Christie, Nikki Haley, Mike Pence, Tim Scott, Vivek Ramaswami, Ron DeSantis,

and yes, even Doug Burgham was there. We watched, so you didn't have to, and let me just say,

this one was really painful for a myriad of different reasons, and I'd like to introduce,

who I have here, to help me go through the highlights and more appropriately, the low lights.

That is Yaku Buiens, a police to be contributor and host of the bottom line. We have with us,

for the very first time, we'd like to welcome Carl Benjamin. He is director of LotusEaters.com,

along with Logan Hall, who is, of course, the blaze media digital strategist.

I want to get into this. I want you, though, first Carl, to tell everybody what is LotusEaters.com.

We are a conservative philosophical website, which sounds quite esoteric, but really what the plan

is, is to try and help conservatives understand why they're losing to the left all day,

every day, because I'm tired of it. I used to be left-wing, and I hear it, and I've realized

that the left is actually just evil and destructive, and so I started researching into conservative

philosophy about five, six years ago, and it became apparent that conservatives are not transmitting

their own message very well, and so hopefully what we're going to produce from LotusEaters.com

are a series of kind of memetic weapons. This is in a similar vein to the way the left attacks us.

We need to have our angles of tackle them, because obviously so far nothing's really landed.
