Folks, we're in a mess in America.

I'm in a mess.

We're in a battle of light against darkness, truth against arrow, Satan against

God, and yet God who gave victory in Gideon's Day is the God who wants to give victory in our day.

pastor and author Adrian Rogers. In judges chapter six, Israel had forgotten their God and the

victory he had already given them. They were oppressed and shamed by their enemies. Our nation today suffers shame of its own. We've done away

with the fixed standard of right and wrong. Now everyone does what is right in their

own eyes.

But God raised up an unlikely hero in Israel's day, Gideon, to fight for his people.

And as our nation begins to fall into the same kinds of trappings, we need to recognize the

principle of victory in Gideon's life that we may be used like him.

May I tell you that our nation is in difficulty. America, I believe with all of my heart, is a God formed, God blessed,

God protected, and God decreed nation. I believe that the dream that was put into the hearts and minds and bosoms of our founding fathers

was put there by God himself.

And I've said before, no nation ever had such a Christian beginning as America,

but I must confess with a broken heart that America has forgotten God. We have lost our glory.
