The decades old Munich Security Conference is the world's most prestigious and high-level conference on foreign policy and

defense issues.

Every winter, senior statesman, leaders, journalists and Wanks, gathering an opulent hotel

in Munich to reflect on the state of the world.

I was privileged to join the official U.S. congressional delegation to the conference this year

and had the opportunity to speak to a number of senior leaders and policymakers.

This is the first of two podcasts we'll be putting out there on the Munich Security Conference.

In this episode, you'll get to hear my conversations with former Australian Prime Minister

Kevin Rudd, Senator Sheldon White House, Senator David and I spoke to Kevin Rudd on the sidelines of the conference. It was not long after he spoke on the main stage about China.

He served twice as the Prime Minister of Australia, once his foreign minister, and is now the President of the Asia Society based in New York.

We spoke about relations between China, the United States, and Australia.

Is the U.S.-China relationship doomed to mutually assured misunderstanding.
