In medical astrology, the Sun represents the gravitational center of the psyche and of the body. Just as the planets orbit the Sun, so too does our physiology organize itself around a central core of vitality, expressed through the heart, the circulation of blood, and the distribution of warmth throughout our organism.Β
When the solar principle is strong, we see resilience, clarity, steady immunity, and a sense of inner coherence. When it is weak, patterns of fatigue, coldness, poor circulation, and psychoemotional instability may emerge.
In this episode, I'll explore four medicinal plants that are powerful expressions of the solar archetype. Through the lenses of heart, warmth, vitality, and spirit, we'll examine how Hawthorn, Angelica, Ashwagandha, and St. John's Wort restore the solar force within us, bridging alchemical philosophy with grounded clinical application.
Here's what you'll learn:
-
The deeper alchemical and medical astrology meaning of the Sun as the center of the psyche and the body
-
The Sun's rulership of the heart, cardiovascular system, and core vitality
-
How solar vitality influences immune strength and resilience
-
Why Hawthorn is a primary cardiovascular trophorestorative and Shen stabilizer
-
How Angelica restores warmth, circulation, and digestive fire in cold, deficient patterns
-
How Ashwagandha builds steady, calm vitality rather than overstimulation
-
How St. John's Wort protects and uplifts the psychoemotional "solar spirit," including its liver and nervous system connections

| 0:41.4 | to some of the medical astrology associations of the sun and it's governing sign in the zodiac |
| 0:50.6 | Leo. Now, I like talking about the sun because, you know, it is the, it is the center of our |
| 1:00.2 | solar system and as such is the center of our psyche. In the alchemical tradition and we could say |
| 1:10.4 | in the astrological tradition as well, the |
| 1:13.8 | structure of the solar system, the way in which, you know, the universe in which we reside |
| 1:21.6 | is ordered has a meaning to it, right? In the alchemical tradition, everything is seen to have meaning from, |
| 1:29.1 | you know, the way a plant grows to the nature of a mineral or a metal. The qualities and |
| 1:35.3 | characteristics of nature are reflective of the qualities and characteristics of the human |

| 1:46.4 | But according to alchemy, the same is true of the celestial realm, right? |
