We are leading off the top of Punchball News a.m. This morning with a look at where government

funding stands, you know, Congress is walking right up to the line of another political crisis.

Yet again, it is deadline week.

Both the House and Senate are going to need to pass a funding bill by midnight Friday

or else the federal government shuts down.

Over the weekend, a 99-page CR was released by House Republicans.

And now we've got a few days here to see if Speaker Mike Johnson can pull this out, Jake. Yes, the government shuts down Friday.

We are, and remember, the government was, this was the same deadline that the House Republican

leadership said they would deal with way in advance. It was

we shouldn't worry about them putting a funding deadline in March because it would be done

way in advance. It wouldn't be a deadline crunch. Again, that's that that deadline that they said

that we said at the time, why would you put a deadline in the middle of, in the middle of

reconciliation? They said, it won't be a problem.
