Welcome to the Foundations podcast.

This week we're talking about sin.

Ouch.

That very uncomfortable topic.

The foundation number two is hate sin, especially your own.

And we put it just like that because that's kind of the

conversation that you end up having with your kids, right? Is especially your own. And we're going to

flesh some of that out. All righty, this should be interesting. Let's get to it.

Okay, this week we are talking about sin. And, you know, really, if you think about it, our families, we would have no problems. We would all be skipping around in fields of wildflowers and everybody would be happy if there wasn't the problem of sin, right? I mean, if I didn't sin against you, the boys didn't send against one another, if we didn't have this

issue of selfishness and self-centeredness and unforgiveness or rudeness, we wouldn't struggle with

so many things. And so it's not everyone's favorite topic, but it's really important for us to

start here because everything we talk about in the coming days

about how to treat one another in Christ starts with acknowledging, first of all, how to hate

our own sin.

Yeah, that there is a brokenness to the world.

Hey, define that a little bit.

Yeah, brokenness.

So, I mean, if you look anywhere, you can see that things are just not quite right.

I think everybody has that, like, solid sense of like, boy, those things weren't this way. Not just with, you know, other people and the things that they do or, you know, watching the news and seeing all the stuff that's going on. But if we take a serious introspective look, if we look at our own hearts, we say, I'm not being the person that I really feel

like I ought to be, right? There's that, there's that missing of the mark. And that's a cool
