chapter six versus 37 through 40. Jesus is speaking to a crowd. He's been kind of going

back and forth with them about their perception of things versus the reality of what he came

to do. And here he's going to lay out one of the most powerful and comforting principles

that I know of in all of scripture. Jesus says, all that the Father gives me will come

to me. And whoever comes to me, I will never cast out. For I've come down from heaven,

not to do my own will, but the will of him who sent me. And this is the will of him who

sent me that I should lose nothing of all that he has given me, but raise it up on the

last day. For this is the will of my Father that everyone who looks on the sun and believes

in him should have eternal life. And I will raise him up on the last day. Friends, Jesus

came to this earth, not just to be an example for us, not just to save us from our sins,

but to be the beacon of hope that all humanity is to turn to. He came here to be that beacon

because his Father sent him to be that beacon. Now pause for a moment and think that through.
