This morning, shortly before 11 o'clock, an active duty soldier assigned to Fort Stewart, Georgia,

shot and wounded five of his fellow soldiers here on Fort Stewart.

Thankfully, all are in stable condition and all are expected to recover.

That's John Lubis, commander of the 3rd Infantry Division in a news conference about today's

shooting at the U.S. Army's Fort Stewart in Georgia.

A law enforcement source said the suspect is 28-year-old Sergeant Cornelius Radford,

who is taken into custody alive and is being held in

pretrial confinement. The commander says the shooting involved Radford's co-workers on base,

and that he used a personal handgun instead of a military weapon. He added that soldiers who were

nearby tackled the suspect so that law enforcement could take him into custody. Radford's motive is still unclear, and officials are not aware of any prior behavioral issues involving him.
