Today, I am bringing us back to Fort Hood, circa 2020, because a lot happened that year.

As you might recall, 2020 was the year of COVID.

2020 was the year the Vanessa Guillen went missing.

And 2020 was the year that we all started to hear more and more about all the bad things happening at or near Fort Hood.

And today's case involves a soldier from Fort Hood.

And I feel like his story kind of got lost in the chaos.

Join me today as I tell you the tragic story of Private First Class Brandon Rosecrans.

It's a quiet Monday morning on May 18th, 2020, in a suburban neighborhood of Harker Heights, Texas, just outside of Fort Hood. A passerby calls 911 after spotting something horrifying, a man's body lying on the side of the road near Fuller Lane.

As authorities are responding to this scene, minutes later, firefighters rush to extinguish a Jeep that is engulfed in flames about three to four miles away, and that fire is taking place

in the Evergreen's estate area. As police and fire investigate these two scenes, they realize that they are likely

connected. The body near Fuller Lane is identified as 27-year-old private first class Brandon Scott

Rosecrans, who happens to be a Fort Hood soldier. And that burning vehicle a few miles away,

well, it turns out to be his brand new orange
