Hey everyone, I'm Andrea Ferretti and this is episode 142 of Yoga Land. Today my guest is Katie Brower.

Katie has a fascinating life story and that's one of the things that drew me to her.

She started skiing as a baby in a sling on her mom's back before she could even walk.

She grew up in a skiing family and at the age of 17 she became a professional snowboarder in Australia.

She's originally from Australia.

So she had a lot of passion, she had a lot of fire.

She obviously knew how to find her way in life. But snowboarding really took a toll on her body. She had, in the

course of seven years of being a world-class competitive athlete, she had seven surgeries, including several on her knees,

So even though she had this seemingly amazing career,

she was really struggling mentally

through each injury with the recovery process,

not just the physical recovery process,

but with the mental and emotional recovery process.
