and media tycoon he dominated Italian politics for the best part of two decades,

winning three elections and becoming the longest-serving Prime Minister since the war.

Today, it was announced that Silvio Berlusconi had died at the age of 86,

and tributes have been coming in from around the world.

A right-wing populist, he was a divisive figure, infamous for his bonga-bonga parties,

and subjects of mockery on the global stage.
