0:59.8	So for me it's been an interesting journey. I was born in Africa and moved to America when I was a teenager.
1:06.8	And I've seen incredible transformation education has, you know, even in my own family's life.
1:13.8	My dad was the son of petty farmers, right?
1:17.8	He was living in a small village in Africa. He got a scholarship to get his PhD at Cambridge.
1:24.8	And that one thing changed his life and changed the course of my entire family's life.
1:30.8	So growing up, you know, in a household where my dad's a professor, my mom's a teacher, you know, grew up in a university town and then moving to America
1:39.8	and taking my first psychology class. I think it was my 11th grade in high school.
1:45.8	I found my calling. I discovered psychology. And so I went to college knowing exactly what I was going to study.
1:52.8	And so fast forward, you know, a few years after that I was working at Carnegie Mellon, you know, as an advisor and then became a director of admissions.
2:02.8	And after that served on admissions board at Harvard. And so my time there, I got to be in the inner sanctum.
