Aren't you thankful that we serve a loving and patient and merciful God?

You know, that's something we say all the time.

It's Christian.

Oh, he's loving, merciful.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, gracious, good God.

But I sometimes think we get calluses over that.

And we kind of forget, wow, what a profound thing that God is merciful.

I mean, you know, if you could sort of sort of think about

what if he wasn't? What if like more like a law of the Islamic faith, kind of more of a capricious

God that you better hope he's in a good mood when you stand before him because it may not be

great for you. But we serve a God that's clearly

compassionate, kind, and merciful and patient. But, you know, the possibilities of that not being,

well, we know that with God, he's merciful and his mercy endures forever. So that's good news.

I think of other examples. You can't really think of

many. I remember thinking about this one. When we were in years ago when my kids were little

and Deb and I were living in a house in Sherwood. We were right next to that, we were in that

little neighborhood right next to the Langer, what do they call that entertainment place

where there's bowling and stuff.

Yeah, we lived there.

But then there was just a Philbert orchard

and there was nothing there when we lived there

on Thrasher Way.
