We have a whole bunch of great topics to cover here before Stan Weber joins us for our football feast from the weekend that was.

And it begins with the Kansas City Chief 17-9 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars in an uneven performance, to say the least, for the Kansas City Chief's offense.

And there's really only two ways now to look at this football team.

Two games in, there's two ways to look at it.

One is extremely optimistic, and one would be pessimistic.

And it goes something like this. Let's do the

pessimistic part. It's easy to say the chiefs are spoiled, that they've had a distracted off

season, that they're undisciplined and their play reflects that, that they don't have enough

talent at wide receiver, and Patrick Mahomes is going to struggle all

season long to find guys that are open. That it just isn't what it was when the Chiefs

had better players for Mahomes to throw to. And maybe even that Travis Kelsey has lost a step,

maybe a little more injury prone, a year older. It would be very easy to do that. The flip side of all this is,

holy smokes, what if the Chiefs have one of the best defenses in the NFL? And how little will they

have to rely on their offense until it's time to win a game? And we know how good the Chief's

offense has been and Patrick Mahomes in particular when it's time to win a game. And we know how good the Chiefs offense has been, and Patrick Mahomes in

particular, when it's time to win a game. And this is what the win over the Jaguars looked like.

This was unlike most Chiefs wins during the Andy Reed Patrick Mahomes era. Chiefs very rarely

have faced a good offensive team, real threats. Maybe not an elite quarterback, but an upper

echelon quarterback, a world-class receiver in Ridley, a good running game, and the Chiefs basically
