Everyone knows how important food is in terms of just nutrition and recovery and it's so surprising when you know

you're fed what are basically ready meals. When I was staying on the wards people

were bringing in food and you can understand why. Doctors are just not trained

for this. You know doctors don't have this type of nutritional training as part of our medical education.

Certainly, I didn't get anything remotely linked to this when I graduated from Edinburgh University Medical School.

I just think for doctors particularly they perceive there to be a lack of sort of

empirical evidence for the benefits of diet or supplements in treatment of cancer and when they're in a very

busy clinic it's not their priority to talk about diet.
