| 0:48.9 | aids, and that's because in Florida they have one of the more restrictive regimes for what it takes to selling a hearing aid. |

| 1:00.0 | before you're allowed to sell a consumer hearing aid. |
| 1:02.0 | And what he was finding is the newer generation of hearing age, |
| 1:05.0 | the ones that work with your smartphones, the ones that can be calibrated using a personal computer, |
| 1:09.8 | just didn't require these tests. |
| 1:11.4 | You know, maybe back 20, 30 years ago, |
| 1:13.9 | you got a hearing aid, you sat in a booth with an audiologist, |
| 1:16.5 | they did this tone test. |
| 1:19.1 | For most people, none of that is necessary any longer. |
| 1:21.4 | And he thought, this is crazy. I'm putting all of my consumers, |
| 1:24.8 | all my customers through these tests, they're unnecessary. I don't want to do that anymore. |
| 1:28.2 | I don't think I need this government license. And he was bolstered in that by reading articles about what the federal |
| 1:34.1 | government has been doing in the area of occupational licensing for hearing |
