But here's the trouble, Dan.

So here's the issue.

This year, the Vikings, J.J. McCarthy finished eighth in play action, okay?

Stay with me on this.

They finished eighth in play action toward the top at downfield passing, average depth of target, and they had the same,

about the same rush EPA as the Rams did, and were 12th in EPA per designed run. So above average

in the run game. Play action is clearly, you know, the cheat code in the

NFL, the more you use it, the better you're going to be. And you see that from Donald.

You see that from Stafford. Drake may less so, but you saw it a lot from Bo Nix as well.

A lot of the statistical markers, including throwing down field, the top two average depth of targets, or the, I'm sorry,

the two guys remaining average depth of targets who are in the MVP race are in the top five

of depth of target. And that's Stafford and Drake May. So two of the deeper throwers in the league

overall, more downfield. And that's what KOC wants for his passing game.

Now, Bo Nix does have one of the shorter ones. They don't have much of a run game. They kind of

have a quick passing. They try not to make mistakes. There's not one thing that always wins, right?

But downfield passing is successful still in the NFL. Even as average depth of target on average goes down, the best quarterbacks are still

pushing the ball down the field.

So I don't think he's wrong in wanting that to be his philosophy.
