Here is part one of a conversation with Jenny and Jamie Winship.

Well, very rarely have we brought in guests and said we have to do three shows with them.

But Jamie Winship, who you're going to hear from today, was one of those people. And I was just

telling him that the reason he's here, and he's actually in the studio today, the reason he's here

is because this summer during my sabbatical, someone sent me three very rough podcasts that he was

a part of. It was a youth retreat. And somehow there was a live squirrel in the middle of the audience

and y'all had to keep getting interrupted. There were technical issues, but it still was some of the most transforming content I've really ever heard. And so if you need a comparison for who this guy is, the only one I can give you is, and I know you call other people this, but he's like born. He has ended up in war zones again and again and

again, and I will let him tell the story. But Jamie, I won't even try to attempt to tell people

what you do. But what for the last few years have you been doing that led you to all these places?

In the last few years. Well, I mean, I'm thinking back, you were a policeman. That's how this all started.
