On the morning of August 8th of 1998,

Indianapolis Police recorded an interview with a woman named Christie Schmid, who stuffed

newspaper boxes for the Indianapolis Star.

The tape of that interview has survived nearly a quarter century later, but the sound is rough.

Schmidt's statement was recorded at the scene of a shooting, Schmidt had witnessed just an hour earlier.
