Summary

Hey, what's up. It's Ben Greenfield. You may have heard that I wrote a new book. It's free at fitsoulbook.com as a digital download. You can also get the physical version for next to nothing. I'm not making any money off this book. I'm just covering my shipping and handling and printing costs. I just want you to experience some of the things I've written within the pages.

Now, because of that, I'm also recording the audio book version, and I want to give you a bit of a taste of that audio book version.

If you like it all the resources and everything for what you're about to hear are at fitsoulbook.com/resources.

So I hope you enjoy this chapter and you can always find me on social media at Ben Greenfield Fitness on most social media platforms. And perhaps there you can just let me know what you think.

So without further ado, here we go.

0:43.3

Top 5 Regrets of the Dying, a life transformed by the dearly departing. It's worth a read.

0:49.7

But in nutshell, Bronny describes the five regrets most often uttered by those on their deathbed are as follows.

0:56.7

First, I wish I had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.

1:02.2

I wish I hadn't worked so hard. I wish I had the courage to express my true feelings.

1:07.6

I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends and I wish I'd have let myself be happier.

1:12.4

So if you're to act upon these regretful reflections and if you don't want to die with a lot of regrets,

1:17.4

this means you could live a life that's true to who you are and not driven by who you think the

1:22.6

world wants you to be. In other words, be authentic. Don't spend so much time working, even if your work

1:28.6

is or feels noble and laudable, or even if you're so self-actualized, it feels like relaxing play,

1:33.7

you may still want to step back and ask yourself how often you use work as an escape or to simply

1:38.9

immerse yourself in more of the doing that takes you away from being. Express your feelings.

1:44.4

Are you in love? Tell him or her. Are you angry? Speak up. Are you lonely? Tell someone.

1:50.1

Do you disagree wholeheartedly, equipping such a people pleaser or coward, be bold and voice your

1:54.6

disagreement? You get the idea. Don't cruise through life's stone-faced and so resilient that you

1:59.2

cannot will not fear or are not vulnerable enough to express your true feelings and emotions.

2:05.3

Next, keep in touch with your friends, old and new. And there I say, venture out to make new friends,

too. I tell you how and why in chapter 3. Finally, choose to be happy. No matter your circumstances.
