Summary

This week, we’ll help two lovelorn Shalloners get over the trauma

of losing their virginity to, well, losers, and give advice to another who flirted herself into a corner with a married man...and now has an unhinged wife on her tail!

Welcome back to the podcast, Shalindlers. All right, let's just get in the mood, get in the spirit. Let's get someplace comfy. Let's unbutton our pants. I mean, as if anyone's wearing pants with buttons at this point, I mean, my God, I wasn't doing that before the quarantine. I'm certainly not doing it now. So let's just get in our best comfiest leggings. Roll our shoulders back.

0:54.2

Relax our jaw, kind of shake our arms out.

0:59.8

Think about relaxing the inside of our ears, taking our tongue from the roof of our mouth and just

1:04.7

relaxing our whole head and neck area. And this week, we're going to have a different mantra.

1:10.0

This week's mantra is,

1:11.8

it's all just data. It's all just data. Because at this point in the quarantine, or, you know,

1:18.0

even if this wasn't the quarantine, we might be feeling like anxious. Might. We are. We're feeling

1:24.4

anxious. We're feeling antsy. We're feeling restless. We're starting to think, oh, my God, there's things I didn't do in quarantine and there's still so much I have to do. Look, it's all just data. Maybe you're getting frustrated with your partner. Maybe you're getting frustrated with your parents. Maybe you're realizing you can't be alone this much. Maybe you're realizing you can't be around people this much. It's all just data. Like when people

1:46.7

are trying to lose weight or get healthy or break a bad eating habit and change their eating,

1:50.6

one of the huge things that's recommended to them, it's been recommended to me, is journaling.

1:56.5

Write down how you're feeling throughout the day and then the behaviors. Like, okay, I was feeling

2:01.6

super, super anxious. My gut in a fight with my mom. And coincidentally, 10 minutes later, I'd polished off a bag of Cheetos. Well, that's not a coincidence. It's cause and effect, right? And then you can start to look at your behaviors as data. And you can log those data points. You're like, okay, so when I feel anxious, that triggers me to

2:18.0

reach for the bad food, or that triggers me to smoke weed or scroll on Instagram or whatever it

2:23.3

might be. So try to keep like even a one or two day journal and just be like, I'm going to log

2:29.3

some data points. I'm going to write down the things that I do, just like I'm observing an animal.
