Good morning, everyone. I'm Kate Baldwin. It's Friday, March 13th. Here are the five things you need to know to start your day.

Number one, the Supreme Leader speaks, sort of. More than 10 days since his father was killed and four days since his appointment to the most powerful position in Iran, the new Supreme Leader has purportedly

released his first message. It, however, was not on camera. You also do not hear his voice.

It was a statement read out on Iranian State TV. According to sources, the 56-year-old suffered

a broken foot and facial lacerations on the first day of the bombing campaign by the U.S. and Israel.

The message then coming in from Mosheba Hamine is this. Iran would get a, quote, full revenge.

And it also further threatened the Strait of Hormuz with the statements saying that it will remain closed as a, quote, tool of pressure.

At least 16 vessels have been attacked in and around that critical shipping channel since the

start of the war. In a new interview, President Trump had this message for the new Supreme

Leader. Well, they've been doing a lot of talking, so he's going to have to put up.

We'll have to see because we are decimating them. We've knocked out most of their missiles. We've knocked out many of their drones. We've knocked

out a lot of the manufacturing areas where they manufacture the missiles and now the drones.

We're hitting them harder than anybody's been hit since World War II.

And sadly, Sencom has now confirmed that four of the six crew were killed on board an Air Force refueling jet that crashed in Western Iraq.

The crash is still being investigated.

The Pentagon says it was not from hostile or friendly fire.

Number two, the synagogue attack.

Investigators are still working on a motive for the terrifying attack on Temple Israel yesterday in suburban Detroit.

Law enforcement sources already say, though, to CNN that the suspect told people

that multiple members of his family were killed in a recent Israeli airstrike in Lebanon.

DHS identified the suspect as a 41-year-old man born in Lebanon and became a U.S. citizen in 2016.

Officials say he was the only one to die in this attack, but it could have been so much worse.
