matchup with the upcoming Seahawks

opponent.

This week, that is the Washington Commanders.

And I'm very excited to welcome my first time guest, Ben Standig, who formerly of the

athletic, currently the best name for any substack or podcast out there, last man, Standig.

Yes, S-T-A-N-D-I-G, using the last name really, really well. How are you doing, Ben? Doing all right. Thanks for having me on. It's great to have you. Well, you know, any friend of Jerry Brewer is a friend of mine. I mean, I haven't had a chance to actually hang out with Jerry for a while, but when I asked for

who's the best guy to talk commander's football, he was like, oh, let me, let me connect you to Ben.

So very excited to have this. I appreciate that, Jerry. Yeah, yeah. So it's an interesting

matchup between these two teams. There's a lot kind of in front of both teams and a lot kind of rioting on this game,

especially for Washington.

Before we kind of get into all the things about this, folks that don't know you,

what's your background?

And how did you get into doing what you're doing?

Oh, sure.

Well, I grew up here in the DC area, rooted for all the teams. I did study some of this, some journalism in college and thought maybe I would do this, but

I went away into other stuff for a decade plus.

And then I just kind of wandered back into this space and have it left. I mean,

if you've ever met me, I'd a cocktail party, I talk sports and that's kind of about it. So it was

just kind of a no-brainer to get back into this. And fortunately, you know, I got on the commanders
