We went to our first NYCC this year, and were front row for the Spotlight on George RR Martin, and attended the live premiere of the first Dunk and Egg trailer and the follow-up panel which included Peter Claffey (Dunk), Dexter Sol Ansell (Egg), Ira Parker (showrunner), and GRRM. This episode has our usual shot by shot breakdown of the trailer, followed by what we saw and learned at New York Comic Con 2025!

| 0:00.0 | The The George R. Martin was the first ever attendee, well, badge owner, he was badge number one at the first ever New York Comic-Con in |
| 0:57.0 | 1964. Here in 2025, me and Ashea attended our first New York Comic-Con. I really don't know |
| 1:03.9 | what badge numbers those would be. Adding all the badges up since 1964? Well, it's a large number. |
| 1:11.6 | There were over 250,000 people there this year alone. |
| 1:15.6 | We were front row for the spotlight on George R. Martin. |
| 1:18.3 | And before that, we attended the live premiere of the first Dunkin' Egg trailer and the follow-up panel, |
| 1:24.4 | which included Peter Claffey, who is Dunk, Dexter Sol Ansel, who is Egg, |
| 1:28.8 | Ira Parker, the showrunner, and George himself. We'll talk about all that, but after the main |
| 1:34.6 | attraction here, our usual traditional shot-by-shot breakdown, deep dive into the trailer, |
| 1:41.5 | the first ever trailer, it's so exciting exciting of Night of the Seven Kingdoms. |
| 1:45.4 | And we will be doing our best to connect what we're seeing in the trailer to the parallel scenes |
| 1:53.1 | in the book. There'll be a few spoilers, of course, but nothing you don't already know 99% of |
| 1:58.2 | if you've read The Hedge Knight. So nothing to worry about there. |
| 2:02.0 | A lot of the characters are visible, so we'll get to point them out. It's really fun to see all |
| 2:05.1 | the armor and heraldry, especially, which is going to be a big focus of the visuals for this |
| 2:10.1 | season, and that's fun. Sardontos would be happy for that. Some of the Targaryen armor in particular |
| 2:15.7 | is amazing. This is an era ironically when Targaryen |
| 2:18.7 | armor probably peaked because, well, none of them rode dragons, so they had to do a little more |
| 2:22.7 | to intimidate or to seem strong, and that included going to smaller tournaments like this one. |
| 2:29.9 | And they knew people would see them up close more often, so all the more reason to go all out with your armor. |
| 2:37.4 | So we've got all that and more on this episode |
| 2:40.0 | of History of Westrose podcast. |
