Welcome into Lounge. I'm Ryan Mink, here with Garrett Downing, and we just came off the practice field from the Ravens' first practice of rookie minicamp.

It's a chance for these rookies to make their first impression on the coaching staff and just a beautiful day to go watch practice, Garrett.

It was a good practice, I thought.

Certainly guys popped, made some splash plays and stood out, and we're going to break it

all down for you here today.

Garrett, just kind of what's your overarching takeaway from the practice?

Yeah, first of all, I would say, like, to take a step back,

this is a big moment for these players. Yeah. And whether you're the first round pick,

like Vanga, or you're one of the guys that's here as a tryout player trying to stay here

longer than this weekend. Like, this is a big moment. This is what you've been working for. This is a

dream come true to a certain extent. And so I know it's a rookie mini-camp practice in May. And we're not going to be talking about it once we get to October and November, right? But I think for these players, getting to this point and just getting on that field today really is a significant moment. And so there's nerves. There's excitement. There's anxiety. Like all of that stuff exists out there at practice.

I think you see little elements of that as players are kind of nervously and going

through the drills for the first time and getting a feel for what an NFL practice is like.

And then as practice continues, you start to settle in and start to just get into your routine and play

like yourself. But I don't want to overlook just like the significance of this day and this

moment for a lot of the players on that field. And for some of these guys, like they're here for

working minicamp and that's it. And that's the extent of their NFL career. Like that's the

reality of it. And then others, this is the start of long, long careers.

And wherever they are in that spectrum,

I just think that today is kind of a special moment for a lot of these guys.

Yeah, absolutely.

You could see it from just their reaction walking on to the practice field for some of them.
