Do you sometimes just read the words that we sing?

Do you sometimes just think about the statements that we make.

One with himself, I cannot die.

My soul is purchased with his blood.

My life is hidden with Christ on high.

With Christ my Savior and my God.

Don't just sing the words. Think about the confessions that we make.

Think about what we say and what that means beyond the moment of the music and the sweet reality of the life that we live and the death that we someday will die.

Did you pray with me? Father, we are so grateful that when Satan tempts us with despair and tells us of the great guilt that is within.

Upward we can look and see the one standing there who made an end to all our sin.

We confess that our hope is in Christ and in no other.

Our hope is in Christ and not in ourselves.

Our hope is in Christ and not our accomplishments. Our hope is in Christ and not our accomplishments.

Our hope is in Christ, not our accumulation of wealth and things.

Our hope is in Christ, not in man. Our hope is in Christ. Not in a nation, not in a government. Our hope is in

Christ.

Thank you for reminding us of that today.

We are indeed grateful.

And as we come down to this moment where we search your word

to hear and to heed your truth, we ask that you would speak with clarity and with power.

This is our prayer.

We offer it in Christ's name.
