Greetings and salutations. It's me, Column Moriarty. This, in essence, is the last episode of

0:06.4

fireside chats that we're putting up this week. And I didn't really quite know what to do for the final

0:12.8

episode. Do we do like a random interview? Do I prioritize one of these interviews I had already done?

0:17.9

Do I talk to someone to my family? Do I have them interview me like we've done with Aaron in the past. And the answer was that I didn't really know exactly what to do. And I felt like I didn't want to prioritize any of the interviews per se because I didn't want anyone that was on the show to feel like their episode wasn't as good as another person's episode or whatever else. So I just let them go in the order that we recorded them in.

0:42.1

And then I just wanted to wrap up with just a brief few minutes here just to thank you so much for giving fireside chats life and for supporting the show and for really supporting me in trying

0:49.7

to do something, at least in my opinion, maybe you guys disagree, but something that I thought

0:53.7

was unique and interesting because there are so many interview shows out there and so many people

0:59.2

trying to sell you something and so many people doing the rounds, the media rounds where

1:04.1

they have a new book out or they have a game or whatever else.

1:07.1

But I didn't want to do that.

1:09.5

Like how many times you have to see person X on the same show in a week's time because they have a new game out or they have a book or whatever. We've had a few of those kinds of people on our show, but ultimately I wanted the show to be about you guys and you gals out there, and that's what we did. Over nearly 120 episodes, we discussed all sorts of things with all sorts of interesting people from all

1:28.3

over the world. And I thought it was a lot of fun. And I'm sad to see the show go. But I think

1:34.6

that it's time for us to move forward into the next epic or eon of Collins' last stand. And as Dustin,

1:42.5

our editor reminded me so aptly some months ago,

1:48.0

Fireside Chats is the last vestige of the original Collins' last stand. And actually,

1:54.9

it reminds me a lot of my old company, kind of funny, when we founded the company in 2012 and 2013, we weren't doing anything

2:04.3

like we were doing in 2015, 2016, 2017 with games and all of that. We started out as a very

2:09.0

different company doing very different things. And ultimately, we found our way into a little bit of a

2:13.3

pocket there. And I think we're doing the same thing here with Collins last stand as we kind of veered more towards video games and nerd culture and all of the things that all of that

2:21.8

entails, because I think that that's just kind of our bread and butter here between you and

2:26.1

between me. But fireside chats, if I might be selfish, allowed me to selfishly explore all of

2:32.0

these things that I'm interested in because I've always considered myself, not polymath but a renaissance man because the polymath indicates that I'm
