I'm James Hibbard, and as always, I'm here with my podcast partner, Darren Franich,

and now we're kind of moving into the home stretch here of the Thrones Odyssey.

Yes, the home stretch, the famously uncontroversial final seasons of Game of Thrones.

James, I'm not sure how you found any material at all in covering that part of the show in your book,

because obviously there's a little to talk about. No, James, you know, as I've said before,

in this very special limited series, my enjoyment of your book really only accelerated as we got

closer and closer to the end of the series because, you know, as much

as in the early parts of fire cannot kill a dragon, I felt like you had so many great revelations

about what went into the development of the show, what the kind of mood was in making the show

in those early days when it was decidedly not the biggest show in the world.

Everything really does change in your book and indeed the world as an experience Game of Thrones

when you get to the last couple of seasons.

We talked a lot about the final season and the finale last season, disagreed about some things.

No shortage of opinion about the finale

and about some choices that they made.

I'd be curious to know just for yourself, you know, again, my perception of you covering Game

of Thrones was you finished covering the finale, you walked away in slow motion while everything

exploded behind you.
