When I moved to Nashville two years ago, I started doing, again, these bar gigs for a living,

starting with like the lower, like smaller gigs just like playing in a restaurant or a bar

on a bar stool for three hours.

And I knew, I said this to myself, I'm like, if someone can't walk into this restaurant or bar

and, you know, see who's on the stage and think he's as good as Brett Young or whoever's on the radio right now, that I'm not there yet.

Like, that has to be step one.

Step one is I have to be as good as these guys on the radio.

Otherwise, why am I, how am I right now.

So, you know, I have to be just as good.

And then I have to be unique on top of that.

September will be the five-year anniversary of when I officially played like my first show as a singer-soluars.

And before that, it was me and you doing writers' rounds like the couple of months before that.
