Summary

Hey Friends,  It’s almost Christmas! We are in our final week of sharing some of my favorite books. (Maybe I’m a bit biased since they are MY books :) )  This week we are diving into Chapter 7, Time: Finding Your Rhythm in a World of Overwhelm from my book, Breaking Busy.  No one is living their life where they are not busy, right? We all have something to do, whether it is a work project, raising our kids, etc. As we plan to start a new year and cast our vision for what we want that year to look like, we need to examine what is a healthy and unhealthy “busy season.”  Make sure to stick around to the end to hear some practical tips and advice on setting boundaries on our time and live with more intentionality as we head into 2022.    Listen in to learn more :  The Resolution that changed Alli’s life  What is “ tyranny of the urgent” and how even Jesus set boundaries! Choose discomfort over resentment Practical tips on setting boundaries on what to take out and what to add in when it comes to time management.  Merry Christmas!  Listen now: Click here to listen in iTunes. books. This week, we're diving into how to spend our time from Breaking Busy. Now, breaking busy, it will

0:39.2

break down all the things in our lives, things that come to mind easily, and some hidden things

0:44.3

that create unnecessary busyness and chaos in life. So here's the way I think of it. No one is

0:50.8

living a life where they're not busy. No one is living a life going, oh, I have nothing to do.

On Tuesday, I'm just eating grapes that someone else peels for me. That's not anyone's life, right?

Finding that rhythm that works for you. I like having a big

full life. I like doing a lot of things. That's how I'm living. That's how I'm created. Other people

1:18.3

have different levels of busyness. So we have to figure out what our capacity is, what's healthy and what's

1:24.6

not healthy. What's driven by what we love in life and what's driven by

shame or people pleasing or trying to, you know, keep people happy and keep ourselves distracted

from things that we need to deal with. You know what I'm talking about? That's the difference.

And as we head into this new year and cast vision for the year we want to have and how we want to feel this next year, examining how we spend our time is really the key.
