Life is a journey, and God has provided songs to help us along the way.

Join Scott Pauli today as we study the songs of degrees found in the Psalms.

If you travel very much, you learn very quickly that you have to have supply, you have to have resources.

Traveling can be an expensive venture, And along the way, you have to

replenish in every way. If you're driving a car, you have to have fuel. If you are traveling on the

road for a certain number of days, you need money just to live on and to eat on. You have to have lodging and places to go.

We're talking today about the traveler's supply.

And we've come in our study of these songs of degrees to Psalm 123.

Now remember, these songs were sung by the nation of Israel as they traveled, as they journeyed to Jerusalem.

When you come to Psalm 123 in verse number one, you read these words,

unto thee lift I up mine eyes, O thou that dwellest in the heavens.

1:22.6

Behold, as the eyes of servants look into the hand of their masters,

and as the eyes of a maiden under the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a maiden into the

hand of her mistress. So our eyes wait upon the Lord our God until that he have mercy upon us.

Have mercy upon us, O Lord. Have mercy upon us, for we are exceedingly filled with contempt.

Our soul is exceedingly filled with the scorning of

those that are at ease and with the contempt of the proud. What do we learn from this Psalm that will

help us today on our own journey with the Lord Jesus Christ? A friend as surely as this traveler whose writing needed supply along the way,

I love the fact that in this Psalm, like in a previous song of degrees, he lifts up his eyes.
