0:00.0	Life is a journey, and God has provided songs to help us along the way.
0:12.0	Join Scott Pauli today as we study the songs of degrees found in the Psalms.
0:18.0	They will encourage your heart and give help for the journey ahead.
0:29.4	If you travel very much, you learn very quickly that you have to have supply, you have to have resources.
0:36.3	Traveling can be an expensive venture, And along the way, you have to
0:40.9	replenish in every way. If you're driving a car, you have to have fuel. If you are traveling on the
0:48.4	road for a certain number of days, you need money just to live on and to eat on. You have to have lodging and places to go.
0:56.4	We're talking today about the traveler's supply.
1:00.1	And we've come in our study of these songs of degrees to Psalm 123.
1:05.9	Now remember, these songs were sung by the nation of Israel as they traveled, as they journeyed to Jerusalem.
1:12.7	When you come to Psalm 123 in verse number one, you read these words,
1:16.8	unto thee lift I up mine eyes, O thou that dwellest in the heavens.
1:22.6	Behold, as the eyes of servants look into the hand of their masters,
1:26.9	and as the eyes of a maiden under the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a maiden into the
1:28.6	hand of her mistress. So our eyes wait upon the Lord our God until that he have mercy upon us.
1:36.3	Have mercy upon us, O Lord. Have mercy upon us, for we are exceedingly filled with contempt.
1:43.7	Our soul is exceedingly filled with the scorning of
1:47.2	those that are at ease and with the contempt of the proud. What do we learn from this Psalm that will
1:54.9	help us today on our own journey with the Lord Jesus Christ? A friend as surely as this traveler whose writing needed supply along the way,
2:03.6	you're going to need divine supplies.
2:05.6	You're going to need what only God can give.
2:09.6	I love the fact that in this Psalm, like in a previous song of degrees, he lifts up his eyes.
