Summary

It's been a while. I catch you up on what's happened since the last episode in May, including a few celebrations and a big lesson you can apply to your life.

I also announce the launch of the Find More Balance Network! It's a private membership community for growth-minded professionals who are ready to go after meaningful goals, live a healthier lifestyle, find inspiration to sustain progress, or simply interested in connecting with like-minded folks who are on their own health & wellbeing journeys.

The network kickoff event is on September 16th at 11am ET. It's a live session focused on what to know about taking a mental health leave from work. I explain more in this episode.

If you're serious about growth, let's get to work. Visit fmbnetwork.com.

So the last time I posted an episode it was May 23rd and I had no idea at that time that

0:15.0

I wouldn't be posting another episode until the beginning of September but I'm glad

0:20.5

that time went by because it gave me a chance to live some more life, it gave me a chance

0:25.4

to create space to finish one season so that I could start another and it gave me essentially

0:33.2

time to work on something that I'm excited to really talk about in this episode but I'm going to

0:37.3

talk about that a little later on because first I want to talk about a few milestones that have

0:42.5

happened since the last episode particularly if you've been following the journey and so on

0:48.2

July 1st 2023 I celebrated three years free from alcohol also three years from beginning the

0:54.8

physical healing journey and making that critical decision to break what was essentially a generational

1:01.8

cycle and then later in July I celebrated two silver medals at the Outdoor Masters Track and

1:09.3

Field Championships this this year and in the process achieved a couple of new personal best

1:15.6

for my age group at this level and also achieved the All-American standard for my age group at this

1:22.7

level so a pretty awesome experience there didn't get the gold like I wanted but yeah considering

1:28.0

that last year I basically came in last in the long jump to come back this year and the bounce up

1:33.9

to silver that's a come up and that's something to be celebrated and it can be very easy to get

1:39.9

trapped in what we didn't do and what could have been but when you're in the moment you celebrate

1:45.5

what's in the present and that's what I did so I celebrated those silver and I'm still celebrating

1:50.4

those silver's the third thing that I'm celebrating and this is super reason and it's part of the

1:57.5

reason that I'm releasing this episode right now is that on September 1st I celebrated two years

2:03.2

since I started the mental health leave from my day job that changed everything and it's also that

2:09.8

leave that led to me changing the name of the podcast from what it was before to the mental wealth

2:15.8

show because I realized that a lot of the things that I had struggled with and a lot of the
