Welcome to the Black Girl Burnout podcast.

Kelly here.

0:13.1

And we are closing out this week's series on how to navigate uneven friendships, friendships you've outgrown.

0:21.9

We started Monday talking about identifying that.

0:25.2

Like maybe there are relationships in your life,

0:27.8

friendships in your life that you need to tweak and adjust

0:30.1

or sadly maybe even eliminate.

1:27.8

that not everyone can make the climb with you as you navigate healing and just growing and growth,

1:34.3

that your friendships will need a measure of rebalancing. But on the other side of that is so much

1:42.9

joy.

1:49.7

I cannot tell you when I was preparing for this series, I thought about a particular friendship breakup that was very painful.

1:52.8

I wanted to deny it was, but it was painful.

1:55.8

And four years later, I thought about that friendship breakup and was either alternately sad, annoyed, troubled,

2:06.8

whatever the adjective, and now I can say completely at peace with it.
