privilege in the world to be with so many friends from all over the world who join me every

week to listen to my stories, inspiration, biblical encouragement. And I am just so glad

that you're here today. Thanks so much for joining me.

Hello my friends, this is Sally Clarkson and I'm so glad that you join me today. Oh my goodness,

I have been getting letters in the mail and two or three birthday packages and lots of comments.

And thank you so much. I feel so close to all of you. I read the messages and the letters and I

wish I had time to answer everyone. But I like you. I'm right in the middle of taking care of my

family, my children, my grandchild, and also life. And so just know that you are dear to me and

dear to my heart. And I listen to all your stories and wish I could answer every single letter.

But anyway, today is going to be a very special podcast. At least it's going to be very special to me

because when I was pondering, Lord, what does it really look like to have joy in this world because

at the time I was feeling quite overwhelmed and down and don't we all go through that from time

to time? As a matter of fact, last Sunday morning, we were going to celebrate my birthday because

Joel had just gotten back in town. And it was one of those mornings where we had just heard about

the new shooting in El Paso. And then there was another shooting. And then I found out that

another dear friend was in four stage cancer. You know, she had four stage cancer. And

anyway, several other things happened. And the news, there was something. And so I thought, wow,

this is really a celebratory day. But by the time I got to the afternoon, and I'd had a little chance to

have a very small, quiet time or maybe just a cup of tea sitting outside thinking. I realized that

I, if really knowing Christ is a reality in my life, that the God who faced death, who endured

the cross despised the shame. But now he has sat down the right hand of the throne of God.
