Dr. Lynn Anderson, thank you so much for being our guest on the Mike Linton experience. I am super excited about our time together. I had a hard time sleeping last night. I'm a huge fan of yours. Well I did some research and I'm a huge fan of yours. I absolutely love and I told you this before we

record. I love love love the way you go about helping people improve their

lives. So I'm super excited for our time together. Thank you again for being here. Like we talked about before we hit report, everybody has a story and our passion is to help them tell it. So with your permission, we'd love to start with where you were born all the way up to today, and then we want to talk about your new book that's out or that's coming out, and then anything else that you're working on, okay? Okay, sounds good. Well, you know, much to many people's surprise, I grew up on a little island off the coast of Maine in a fishing village. Really? Yeah, and in that little fishing village. Oh cool. Yeah, we had, you know, when I was a child, I remember there was one telephone. It was a crank phone on the on the island and that's all we had, know we had to go there for everybody on a crank phone

crank phone yeah yeah and then you as in manual operate right if you're old enough you remember, you know, where there was 16 people on the line and then eight and then when you got a semi-private it was really something.

But anyway, I grew up in that kind of environment and we had a we practice a lot of folk medicine because it wasn't a doctor on the island so you know my grandmother and my aunt my mother all taught me how to make you know tonics and tinctures or to use things

from nature if you had a cut or whatever and that's kind of how I grew up so I grew up in a very

very before we even had the word organic to use, we were organic because we ate if it came in on the boat, that's what we ate.

If it was on the island and it was in season, that's what we ate. If it was on the island and it was in season,

that's what we ate.

So that was the beginning of my, you know,

sort of getting into it.

And then, you know, to fast forward, I found myself as a young single mother with two children, and I decided I had dropped out of college, and I decided to go back to college, you know, I thought no problem I'll go back. Quite a struggle with two children and you know I mean I went down the whole you know every scholarship grant loan loan, welfare,

whatever I could do to get myself through

because I felt that it was not only the best thing for me,

but it would be the best thing for my children.

And at the end of it, I had what was called just a breakdown.
