Hey friend, it's Kristen. Grab your scriptures and let's dive into Exodus 14, verse 27.

Now, have you ever been on a long road trip and had car trouble, especially in the middle of the desert?

That happened to me once when I was on a Greyhound bus had car trouble, especially in the middle of the desert. That happened to me

once when I was on a greyhound bus. It was a nightmare. And it actually happened to some Egyptian

soldiers. So following the Pharaoh's orders, they chased the Israelites who had just left Egypt.

But a giant cloud had come between them and the escaping Israelites. And in addition, some of the Egyptians'

wheels had come off their chariots. It would have seemed like the biggest annoyance. But what do you

think happened to those particular Egyptians when the cloud disappeared and Pharaoh soldiers

charged after the Israelites? There's every chance that they were still repairing their wheels

when, quote, the Lord overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the Israelites. There's every chance that they were still repairing their wheels when,

quote, the Lord overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea. Those broken wheels may

have saved some Egyptian soldiers' lives that day. This is the perspective that I try really

hard to keep when things aren't going my way. For example, when I get stuck behind a slow car on

a two-lane road,

I think, well, maybe this person is saving me from getting a ticket. Or when I'm trying to teach a

family home evening lesson and the kids are fighting again, I think, wow, these kids are

blessing me to learn so much patience. And while it sounds silly, focusing on the potential positives

makes life so much better.

Finding the blessings and the annoyances of life makes each day so much more joyful.

So the takeaway of the day in five words or less is, find blessings in annoyances.
