Hello, this is Graham Cook. Welcome to the Brilliant Perspective's Podcast.

I want to share some thoughts with you today about a very simple way of

encountering the presence of God in day-to-day life and And it's a simple premise. It's this, pick one truth and be true to it.

Now the best truths in the Bible are what God says about himself because he's righteous which means he never lies and

he's always going to be true to himself in relation to you and the world around you.

And so when God says something about himself

and you pick up on that truth and you take it to heart

and you are true to that revelation in terms of your praying,

terms of your seeking, in terms of your rejoicing,

Thanksgiving.

What will happen is you will start to have encounters with God and you will

learn dependence on God as an experience of life.

So for me that started years ago. I don't even want to tell you how many years ago.

Now I will. It was about 42 years ago and I kept getting Malachai 3.6. I don't know why I waited a few weeks but I did. I was just kind of not that intelligent in those days.

So eventually I looked at it and it just says,

for I the Lord do not change,

therefore you sons of Jacob are not consumed now whenever God uses the word you know sons of Jacob

You know Jacob was a deceiver that was his name he defrauded his his brother while he was still like in the womb you know so

Jacob is it's like a metaphor really for someone who is not fully Christ-like yet and so there are issues in their life

that God is wanting to reverse or upgrade or dramatically change.

And so because God is always taking us on a journey from Jacob to Israel

because that was Israel's name change, which means Prince of God.
