Oh, I'm doing fine, Kurt. Thanks for having me. Good. Well, thanks for coming on the show. So Debbie is a CPA, and we were going to talk about financial literacy today. But before we begin, Debbie, tell us a little about your background and kind of how that ties into how you get started with all this.

Well, I could just tell you a little bit about me.

I am the oldest child of a military sergeant.

So I was born in London while my dad was stationed over there in the Air Force.

And I can tell you that as the eldest child of a military family,

I grew up struggling financially because dad didn't make a lot of money.

I really thought that it would get better once I grew up and got out on my own. The truth is it really didn't.

I got married.

I had children in my own.

And unfortunately what I found was that the cycle started all over again.

But financial literacy and wanting to be in charge of my finances was something that was

very, very strong for me. And so I was very persistent. Then what I would say is that in May of

1993, my life changed dramatically. And in that week, my husband and I both lost our jobs

within 72 hours of each other.
