Listeners, I've been remiss.

That's all I can say, is to tell you that I should have done better and offer you an

apology.

I've been struggling to wrap this series up, because for now, the story is over. The case, that's not over, but the story is.

There's nowhere left for me to take it. Sure, I could go back and analyze the suspects, but I think you have the gist of it.

I could take a dark and depressing dive into alleged pedophile activity along the Cass

corridor in Detroit at the time of the killings.

I could talk about Bobby Moore and his bizarre mugshot, but that doesn't bring us any closer to an answer.

We've learned that there are a lot of creepers out there,

but only a couple of them were involved in these murders.

Right now, I'm hopeful that the so-called task force working on this case

will finally peel back the right layer and reveal the identity of a killer.

I'm waiting for science because that's what this case is going to come down to.

As much as I enjoy looking at records and pulling news reports and talking to people,

I think that what we're going to be left with is science. Growing up, I was never a science

person. In fact, I barely got through Mr. Hamilton's biology class at Troy High. Science isn't my

thing. It's never been my thing. But lately, I've been spending a lot of time

thinking about it. Several weeks ago, I listened to the follow-up episodes of the Bear Brook podcast

created by New Hampshire Public Radio. If you like a good long form, Bearbrook was outstanding.

Well-written, well-produced, impe Brook was outstanding, well written, well produced,

impeccably researched, and they gave their listeners something I can only dream of.
