Welcome to Season 2 of Don't Talk to Strangers.

Season 1 of Don't Talk to Strangers was a long look at the as-yet-unsolved Oakland County child murders from

1976 and 1977.

Unfortunately, there has not been much movement in the Oakland County Child Murder investigation,

but the good news is there is more attention focused on the case right now, and if there are updates or developments in the case, we will revisit it.

During this mini-season, we are examining a more recent case, a resolved case. We're taking a look

at a horrific double murder from the mid-1990s, something that should never be forgotten.

And our story takes place in the picturesque Oakland County community of Milford. Milford is a village in Oakland County, Michigan, and today

it's home to approximately 6,000 people. Incorporated in 1869, the village is located within the larger Milford Charter

Township, and we will use the term Milford to refer to the larger community encompassing both the

village and the township. Milford is perhaps best known as home of the General Motors Proving Ground, where GM sends

vehicles for testing. Situated on the outskirts of the village, the Proving Ground is a massive

4,000 acres, and it provides employment for nearly 5,000 people. When viewed from the air,

the Proving Grounds look like its own city with buildings, cars, and winding roads.

Also in Milford, you'll find Camp Dearborn, located just east of the village.

The spot is popular with campers and day trippers.

Camp Dearborn offers a range of activities such as fishing or swimming in one of the six lakes on the

campus. When I was in high school, I remember girls going to Camp Dearborn on Saturday with their

family so they could attend dances there in the evenings. I wonder if the camp still offers those

social events for youths on the weekend. The camp has changed since the mid-90s, adding a golf course
