Just as Nostanka had decided to give up on the man who had forsaken her, Anna Rater declared

his love for her.

He promised her that even if she never stopped loving another, he would give her his whole

affection for the rest of his life if she would have it.

Being scorned, she told him she would get over her pain and they began to walk and talk

about the future.

She asked him to move into the spare room in her house.

He spoke of getting a promotion at work and she said she'd land something to teach to

others.

Then just as he was about to walk her home, they were passed by a young man.
