In our last episode we read the final pages of the strange case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr.

Hyde.

This is such a famous story I'm sure some of you knew where it was leading, but I hope

you enjoyed the journey nevertheless.

We had a lot to cover in wrapping up the end of this story. So we have created this episode as a

recap of what happened at the end, in case you fell asleep before we finished. After all,

this is the sleepy bookshelf.

Be warned now, this is a spoiler alert.

If you haven't listened to the book and you don't want to know how it ends yet, then

stop this episode for now.

But for the rest of you, I will continue. Jekyll continued to explain how he had lived a double life for some time, until one morning,

having gone to bed as Jal, he awoke as Hyde.

This transformation alarmed him, and he could only assume that as the experiences of Hyde were growing, so was his strength and ability to appear at his own will.

Jekyll decided to end his dalliances as Hyde and chose the moral side of life.

But one evening he gave in to his whims and once again made the transition.

Hyde seemed more enraged than ever, having been prevented life for some time,

and that was the night of the thoughtless murder of Sir Carreau.

Now Hyde had to be put away forever.

He could never be seen in London again,

a known murderer, destined for the gallows.
