Hello, and welcome to the sleepy bookshelf, where we put down our worries from the day and

pick up a good book.

In our last episode we read the final pages of Emma.

We had so many requests for more Jane Austen that I hope this one did not disappoint.

I enjoyed the humour and romance of it all, especially the happy ending.

For anyone unfamiliar with the story, we have created this episode as a brief recap of

what happened in case you fell asleep before we finished.

Mr. Knightley came to Emma to tell her some news he had received.

Robert Martin was to marry Harriet Smith.

Harriet was still in London and not due to travel back to Isabella and John Knightley

came to visit Hartfield in a few days.

Mr. Martin had been going to London and Mr. Knightley asked him to pass a letter to his brother.

In doing so, he was invited to dinner with the family and had time to re-equaint himself

with Miss Smith.

Emma was shocked but delighted all at once that Harriet had changed her mind and that Robert

Martin had not.
