We are trying something a little new with our podcast series. Segments! And music! In the first segment of our new podcast, Ryan Evans sits down with Claude Berube to talk about his new novel, Syren's Song. Ryan then joins Gen. Bob Scales to talk about his recent trip to Europe where he looked at the ability of U.S. and European forces to fight Russia in the event of a war. Gen. Sure, thanks Ryan. I've been teaching at the Naval Academy for 11 years, one of the best jobs I've ever had.

I've been a naval officer, intelligence, served overseas

on the USS Bunker Hill in the Persian Gulf.

I've worked on Capitol Hill for two senators,

Naval Intelligence as a civilian, but my one love was always fiction, especially in the

1980s there was this run of fiction writers.

I mean, everybody mentions Clancy, but I was fond of the Granger series, it's the November

But it was way off of what the November Man series was.

And a book series by Robert B. Parker,

who's one of my favorite Spencer Spencer. You know what the Spencer novels are fantastic and the first one I read the God Wolf manuscript it was the first one in the series. I didn't realize this I'm reading this and it turns out Robert B. Parker was an English professor at Northeastern and I was in grad school at the time in 88, sorry 89.

And I'm reading this book and he's talking about this one particular classroom and the room number in the building. I said, wait a minute.
