Could you just start from the beginning and tell me that story?

I visited in 1994 in November.

On the way to airport, one of my friends drove me to airport, suddenly two cars block

your car right on the middle of highway.

And obviously this was not pleasant situation.

I'm talking to Galena Kameleva about a time she was held up at gunpoint in Russia.

Three guys decided to talk with me about situation, how I do business without pay any extortion

to anybody.

They grabbed my suitcase, check everything what I had.

They actually took all my shawls.

And most important and very sad, they actually took 28 charts with Olga Fedrova. What these gunmen took, some hand-knit shawls,

along with a stack of hand-drawn knitting charts.

This has to be the craziest thing I've ever heard in my decades of knitting,

but it gives a window into a dual story,

one about a 300-year-old knitting tradition

and another about the remarkable woman who helped preserve it.
