Can I give you a little bit of a, like a newsy thing here on Antonio Brown?

0:23.2

When I saw the language for the Patriots and, you know, hey, they cut him and they were so

0:28.5

smart, they staggered the bonus payment so they didn't have to pay him. But from what I heard

0:33.8

is that Belichick just did this completely on his own. And as I've mentioned before in this podcast, that Bill likes Rosenhouse based on all the people I've talked to, and that Drew is somebody that NFL teams, despite the drama and the histrionics and him going on TV and saying all those things, that behind the scenes, he's a guy that wants to work and get deals done. He doesn't need every single last dollar. He wants to make sure his players get taken care of. And that's not always the same for all agents. So that when Brown was up, Rosenhaus calls Bill, hey, let's figure this thing out. Bill's like Don. But then Belichick didn't consult anybody else just did it. Apparently Bill didn't talk to anybody else, didn't talk to anybody else about how he structured the deal and treated Brown like he was just a normal guy that was a high profile free agent. So instead of doing a roster bonus, hey, let's just call it, you know, 750, call it a million a week when you're on the 46 man and ready to go to make sure that you're invested in this whole thing. Like, that's how it should have been treated. And other people around the league were like, man, that's a really weird way of doing this. And that's apparently what Bill just did. Bill got with Drew, trusted Drew, and just went ahead and gave him this deal. So that's Ryan Rissillo on his Ringer podcast. So just we'll wrap this up and then get your phones.

I want to call bull crap on this a little bit.

And I'm not like, I think Ryan's report is probably accurate.

1:50.4

I think it was all Bill.

1:53.2

And Bill and Drew Rosenhaus and their relationship was integral in this.

1:57.9

And I do feel Bill, you know, what spearheaded the thing in all of this.

2:02.1

But it's impossible for Bill to have done this on his own.

2:04.3

He doesn't write the checks.

2:10.1

Okay, so even if Bill goes out and reaches an agreement with an agent, okay, the paperwork is drawn up.

2:11.3

It's not filed with the league until Bill, he has to kick it upstairs to someone.

2:16.4

Can Bill write a check for whatever he wants and himself fax it into the league?

2:21.4

Greg?

2:22.1

No.

2:23.0

There's probably a finance department.

2:24.6

There's a cap department, if you will.
