Welcome to Searchlight, a survey through Scripture with Pastor John Corson.

It is our desire to bring you a systematic study of the entire Bible, chapter by chapter, book by book.

On our last Searchlight program, we began a teaching from Acts chapter 20 that is giving us some very important information about ministry.

And this is important to each of us because we are all involved in ministry.

In our story, the Apostle Paul is telling the leaders of the church that they are to feed the flock of God. But our natural tendency is to beat

the flock. As we join our teaching today in progress, we will see through Moses the right

and wrong way to minister to people. With our study here now is Pastor John.

You might think that you're a hot shot guitar player or an

awesome singer or a great communicator or a master carpenter. You might think that you are excellent in

child care or whatever it might be that is your thing innately, but I'll

tell you this, it will never be used effectively until you throw it down and give it up and

say, Lord, I see that in and of itself it's a snake. That in my abilities I can do nothing.

In fact, all it will do will puff up my pride or get me in trouble.

Lord, I'm going to let it go.
