If the Justice Department needed a smoking gun to indict Donald Trump, it just arrived like mana from heaven.

Trump's claim that he had declassified the massive trove of government documents he took from Lardolago was bullshit from the start.

Well, CNN just burst that bubble, reporting that federal prosecutors overseeing the probe into the documents

have obtained a recording. Yeah, a recording of the former president admitting that he kept a classified

document containing information about proposed attack plans against Iran. The recording indicates Trump understood he retained classified material after leaving the White

House.

On that recording, Trump's comments suggest he would like to share the information, but he's aware

of limitations on his ability, post--presidency to declassify records,

to other sources said. The recording is of a July 2021 meeting at Trump's golf club in

Bedminster, New Jersey. The attendees included multiple people working on an autobiography

of Trump's previous chief of staff, Mark Meadows,

in addition to aides for the former president.

The report comes as the former president's attorneys are seeking a meeting with Attorney General Merrick Garland

about the Justice Department investigation of classified documents found at Mar-a-Lago's home and private club.
