Good morning, everyone. It's Chief Playbook correspondent Eugene Daniels. It is Tuesday, February

4th. Here is what's driving the day. President Donald Trump's trade war with Canada and Mexico

is on pause for a month, putting a temporary end to the drama that

world global markets and panicked businesses across the continent. Trump said he granted the delays

after Mexican President Claudia Scheinbaum agreed to send 10,000 soldiers to the U.S. Mexico border

to combat illegal immigration and the fentanyl trait. And Canadian

Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, trumpeted a border security plan, which was actually announced

back in December already. That was to address the president's concerns about fentanyl flowing south

into the United States. Here in Washington, D.C., Senate Committee votes are expected

today for two of President Donald Trump's most controversial nominees, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for HHS

Secretary and Tulsi Gabbard for the Director of National Intelligence. First up at 10 a.m.,

the Senate Finance Committee will vote on whether to send RFK Jr's nomination to the Senate floor.

Republicans have only a one-vote edge on the panel, and the key player to look out for is Senator Bill Cassidy of Louisiana,

who also happens to be a physician and chairs the Senate help committee.

Cassidy said he's been,

quote, struggling with Kennedy's hesitation to support vaccines, despite the overwhelming

evidence that they are safe and effective. Then, it's all lies on the Senate Intelligence

Committee, which will vote on Gabra's nomination at 2 p.m. There, too, the GOP has just a one-seat edge. One good sign for the

Trump team? Yesterday, Maine Senator Susan Collins announced that she'll support Gabbert. Meanwhile,

at the White House, Trump will host his first foreign leader since his return to office two weeks ago

as he welcomes Israeli Prime Minister
